Epson XP520 and compatibles

Hello, I am a new member and recently bought an Epson XP 520 device. The black (not photo black) cartridge has finished and I purchased a new compatible cartridge from a reputable supplier only to find that the printer would not recognize this non OEM cartridge, they even sent another to check that it was a one off issue, sadly same result.

Has anyone who buys in the UK had any positive experiences with compatibles for this printer? If so please can you tell me the supplier.
