Cannon MG4250 - Duplex printing problem with top margin

I’m struggling with a print problem on my MG5250. Using LibreOffice Writer (Version: 4.2.8.2, running in Linux Mint 17) , print preview shows the page exactly as it should be, but when I actually print the document double-sided, on odd pages the text appears shifted up beyond the edge of the top of the page, giving me no top margin and a large bottom margin.This does not happen if I print single-sided.

Both the LibreOffice and printer margin settings look OK, so I'm baffled as to what is...
